Legacy Academy stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Chesterton Academy 75-11 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-7.
Legacy Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robie Turrieta led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of David Lavery, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, New Mexico School for the Deaf took a serious blow against the Bison on Saturday, falling 71-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Mexico School for the Deaf has scored all season.
Legacy Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for New Mexico School for the Deaf, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Everything came up roses for Legacy Academy against the Roadrunners when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 72-6 win. With Legacy Academy ahead 44-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
