Last Friday, Pittsfield didn't have too much trouble with West Springfield at home as they won 70-53. Given Pittsfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while West Springfield is ranked 291st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pittsfield had a senior duo take command as Makai Shepardson scored 20 points and Malachi Perry scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Da'Sean Brown, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Minnechaug Regional unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of East Longmeadow by a score of 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Minnechaug Regional has suffered yet this season.
Pittsfield's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Minnechaug Regional, they bumped their record down to 5-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
