The Xenia Buccaneers lost against the West Carrollton Pirates back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Xenia took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Carrollton. Xenia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Carrollton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Selena Frost, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Frost has scored at least 25% of West Carrollton's points. Another player making a difference was Cydney Grigsby, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Xenia's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for West Carrollton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Xenia will take on Fairborn at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairborn is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for West Carrollton, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Stebbins at 7:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Stebbins is ranked 264th, while West Carrollton is ranked 278th).
