Elko is 4-0 against Wooster since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Elko Indians will be home for the holidays to greet the Wooster Colts at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Elko beat Douglas 54-41.
Elko's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Preston Chamberlin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Chamberlin has scored at least 25% of Elko's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zj Benitez, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wooster earned a 61-53 victory over Dayton on Tuesday.
Elko now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wooster, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Elko against Wooster in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 59-26 victory. With Elko ahead 39-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
