MAIS AA District 2 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in MAIS AA District 2 this week, Tri-County Academy beat Silliman Institute 20-17. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Tri-County Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,448 from 5,016. The improvement was the result of a 20-17 victory over the Wildcats last week.
Riley Pierce threw for 79 yards and 48 touchdowns. He was 6-9 with 1 interception.
Lafayette Wales was a passing and rushing force as Canton Academy lost to Lee Academy.
John Bryant Stewart made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Panthers fell to the Colts. He nabbed 1 interception.

Wales was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 37 carries, he ran for 281 yards as Ron Jurney's team lost to Centreville Academy. Kraft McLean also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
The Raiders' Pierce and Huffman have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Pierce has thrown for 581 yards this season, while Huffman has 11 catches for 338 yards. The Panthers' Wales leads the league in rushing yards with 1,678.
Leake Academy led MAIS AA District 2 in scoring this week by notching 35 points on Riverfield Academy.
