Baseball Recap: St. Edward's Has No Trouble Against Calvary Chapel Academy

After losing to Calvary Chapel Academy the last time they met, St. Edward decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went the St. Edward's Pirates' way against the Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles on Thursday as the St. Edward's Pirates made off with a 16-1 win. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly 15 runs.

Reid Morris and Graham Hutton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Morris struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Hutton pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Morris a new career-low in walks (zero). At the plate, Morris scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3, while Hutton went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Freedman, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Cooper Harp was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
