The Norwell Knights will take on the Mississinewa Indians at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Norwell will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Huntington North, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Knights walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Vikings last Thursday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 17-25, 25-17, 25-12.
Norwell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bria Reinhard, who had three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Reinhard has posted over her last nine matchups.
They weren't the only good servers: Norwell was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Mississinewa rose to the challenge on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Indians not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 24th (when they won 3-0).
Norwell better focus on containing Jaeli Miller and Makenna Campbell as the pair were huge in Mississinewa's win. Miller had seven digs and two aces, while Campbell had eight digs.
Norwell is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. As for Mississinewa, their win bumped their record up to 24-6.
Everything went Norwell's way against Mississinewa in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, as Norwell made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
