Alamosa has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Manitou Springs Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Saturday, Alamosa was the victim of a tough 53-28 loss at the hands of Montrose. Alamosa has struggled against Montrose recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Manitou Springs made easy work of Rye on Friday and carried off a 40-19 win. The win was just what Manitou Springs needed coming off of a 56-20 defeat in their prior match.
Manitou Springs' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brooklynn Sheffield, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, and Tori Greene, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Sheffield hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Blechman, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Alamosa's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Manitou Springs, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.
Alamosa strolled past Manitou Springs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 38-23. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Manitou Springs' Grace Allen, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
