Sandoval is 0-9 against Wayne City since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sandoval Blackhawks will head out on the road to take on the Wayne City Indians at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Sandoval focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
Sandoval fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 69-37 win over Dupo. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for Sandoval this season.
Drew Gore and Austin Hoffman were among the main playmakers for Sandoval as the former almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 steals and the latter scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hoffman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Armoni Dempsey, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wayne City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 49-42 to Woodlawn.
Sandoval's win bumped their record up to 9-20. As for Wayne City, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-20.
Sandoval was dealt a bruising 63-35 defeat at the hands of Wayne City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Sandoval, Justin Durham (who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
