Katahdin had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Hodgdon Hawks 8-6. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Josh Martin made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Martin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
