Huntington has gone a perfect 4-0 against Newton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Red Devils will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Huntington has eight straight victories, Newton has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Huntington's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Woodville by a score of 4-0.

Not much got past Riley Whitley, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Woodville off the board.

On the hitting side, Chesney Bearden was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Newton came up short against Pollok Central on Friday and fell 8-5.

Huntington pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Huntington took their win against Newton in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 27-0 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
