University hasn't had much luck against Woodbridge recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, University turned things around against Portola on Monday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 19-0 win.

Carson Cruz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Sophia Weinberg was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jessica Hu, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Woodbridge came out on top against Northwood on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Warriors put the hurt on the Timberwolves with a sharp 14-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Like University, Woodbridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Mia Tamkoc. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Tamkoc was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Seli Yamamoto, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Clarissa Stayrook was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Woodbridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for University, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both University and Woodbridge just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Woodbridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
University might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Woodbridge in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
