Northridge Academy is a perfect 10-0 against Vaughn since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Pumas will host the White Tigers at 2:30 p.m. Northridge Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 16.9 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Northridge Academy got the win against East Valley by a conclusive 22-1. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by eight runs or more this season.
Alondra Laguna made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jackie Nettles and Alana Kramer did most of the damage at the plate: Nettles went a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Kramer got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five hits gave Nettles a new career-high. Jasmine Campa was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Northridge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Vaughn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Sherman Oaks CES, falling 28-2. The contest marked the White Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Northridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.6 runs over those games. As for Vaughn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Everything went Northridge Academy's way against Vaughn when the teams last played back in April, as Northridge Academy made off with a 25-3 win. Will the Pumas repeat their success, or do the White Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
