Murray is a perfect 10-0 against Highland since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Murray has seven straight wins, Highland has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Murray got the win against East by a conclusive 12-2. Considering the Spartans have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Savana Whitlock made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Rowley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Bigelow, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Murray was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in 11 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Highland lost 17-2 to East on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Murray, their record is now 12-4.
Everything went Murray's way against Highland in their previous meeting back in March, as Murray made off with a 16-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
