The Point Arena Pirates stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They really took it to Calistoga for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-30 victory on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-15.
Leading Point Arena to victory were Derek Billy and Fernando Lopez. Billy scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Lopez shot 9-for-14 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Billy continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tosh Mouton, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Point Arena pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.67 points. As for Calistoga, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Arena will take on Round Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calistoga, they will be playing at home against Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Victory Christian Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
