Baseline recap Nov. 7, 2012
Upland extended the longest winning streak in Baseline this week by beating Etiwanda, 57-39. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Highlanders/Scots.
Rancho Cucamonga took down Alta Loma 31-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Upland's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nate Romine threw for 385 and five touchdowns and Anthony Romero had 178 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler Bratton chipped in 139 yards. Trevor Wright helped Upland's passing attack out by catching two balls for 130 yards.
Tim Salter's team's Romine and Romero have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Romine has thrown for 2097 yards this season, while Romero, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 34 catches for 636 yards. Cade Lindsay from Glendora leads the league in rushing with 1559 yards.
The Highlanders/Scots led the league in scoring this week after putting up 57 points on the Eagles. Romine ran for 77 yards in the win.
