The Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy 83-22 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Lake Lure Classical Academy has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Lure Classical Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Hill-Moore, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill-Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Zirus Watkins, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josiah Whitmire, who scored 11 points along with five steals. That was a full 50% of Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jonathon Gee, who scored seven points along with two steals.
The win (which was Lake Lure Classical Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 13-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.33 points. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Lake Lure Classical Academy will head out on the road to challenge Veritas Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Veritas Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they will be playing at home against Challenger at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Challenger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday.
