After a string of eight wins, the Chilton County Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Marbury 46-41. Chilton County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Marbury apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Marbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addyson Jarman led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Jarman scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Brown, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Chilton County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9. As for Marbury, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chilton County will square off against Benjamin Russell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benjamin Russell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Chilton County is ranked 121st). As for Marbury, they will head out on the road to challenge Autaugaville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Autaugaville is on a three-game streak of home wins, Marbury a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
