El Monte is 1-9 against Gabrielino since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The El Monte Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Gabrielino Eagles at 6:30 p.m.
El Monte suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2023 last Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-46 walloping at the hands of South El Monte. El Monte has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Gabrielino can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 62-23 victory over South El Monte. The victory was familiar territory for Gabrielino who now have four in a row.
El Monte bumped their record down to 2-21 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Gabrielino, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.
El Monte was dealt a bruising 71-16 loss at the hands of Gabrielino when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can El Monte avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
