The Gilmer County Titans lost against the Roane County Raiders back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Gilmer County took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roane County. Gilmer County has not had much luck with Roane County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Gilmer County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Bush. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Mick, who scored 12 points.
Roane County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cam Cumpston, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Shaun Caldwell, who scored 12 points.
Gilmer County's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Roane County, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5.
Gilmer County will take on Wirt County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wirt County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Roane County, they will head out on the road to challenge Webster County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Webster County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Thursday.
