The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Stony Point came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while McNeil is ranked 671st).
When it comes to explaining why Stony Point lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Naomi Ofunrein. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ofunrein is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last three games she's played. Matilda Bortels was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Stony Point's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for McNeil, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Stony Point will face off against Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McNeil, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
