Last Thursday, South Central came up short against New Bern and fell 9-6. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brody Brannan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bunn and Louisburg meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Bunn pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
South Central might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Bunn in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
