They took a 80-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina]. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, St. John saw an underclassman step up: Simon LaRocque scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LaRocque has scored all season. Cashmyn Belgarde was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
St. John has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina], they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John will take on the Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina], they will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
