The biggest upset of the week belonged to Yonkers Montessori Academy, who took down 585th ranked Yonkers Montessori Academy, 30-14.
Dobbs Ferry suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 27-0 loss to Dobbs Ferry. The Eagles had been ranked eighth, but fell to 30 following the defeat.
Yonkers Montessori Academy's dynamic duo of George Figueroa and Robert Atkins proved tough for Palisade Prep to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Figueroa threw for 93 yards and one touchdown and Atkins had 74 yards receiving. Reggie Rivas helped Yonkers Montessori Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 11 yards.
Nico Denise was the most productive running back in Section 1 C/D this week. He ran for 144 yards on eight carries as Albertus Magnus lost to the Phoenix. Sampson Nyorko also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Daniel Lopez and Denise the Falcons have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Lopez leads the league in passing with 124 yards, while Denise has rushed for 453 yards this season. Rye Neck's Matt Garcia leads the league in receiving yards with 95 on two catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Yonkers Montessori Academy takes on the Panthers. At the moment, Yonkers Montessori Academy is in sixth, while Rye Neck is in third.
Albertus Magnus moved up to 163 from 334 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Paul Villanueva's team was able to make the jump by beating Blind Brook 32-0.
