A feisty cat fight will be fought as Providence Panthers duke it out with Union Academy Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Providence sitting on 12 straight victories and Union Academy on 15.
While Providence's win against Butler wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Bulldogs since April 4, 2022.
Averie Jones looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Providence's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Union Academy, their record is now 15-0.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Providence hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .428. However, it's not like Union Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
