Among those leading the charge was Mekhi Mack, who scored 26 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. KeAndre Mattocks was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, East Duplin saw an underclassman step up: Zachary Ball scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Garrett Johnson, who scored five points along with three blocks and two steals.
Richlands' win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for East Duplin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Richlands will be playing at home against Swansboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Swansboro has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 773 points over their last ten matches. East Duplin won't have much time to rest: their next game is against James Kenan at 8:00 p.m. on January 11th. The timing is sure in James Kenan's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while East Duplin has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
