It was a good run, but the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Warren Central by a score of 72-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory still got an impressive performance from Evan Haywood, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 2 assists. The matchup was Haywood's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reis Butcher, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Warren Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will head out on the road to face off against Zionsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Zionsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday. As for Warren Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Lawrence North's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
