While Chipley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.  The team  relied heavily on  Jadyn Pettis, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and five  RBI. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  RBI.  Adalyn Nelson also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
Chipley pushed their record up to 6-3 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to  hits: they averaged an imposing 9.33  hits in those games compared to only 5.5 in the others. As for Vernon,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
 We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Vernon will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bethlehem at 6:00  p.m.  on March 24th.
