The Mishawaka Marian Knights came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past South Bend Career Academy, posting a 73-25 win at home. That 48 point margin sets a new team best for Mishawaka Marian this season.
Leading Mishawaka Marian to victory were William Owens and Zion Rhoades. Owens scored 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Rhoades scored 20 points along with two steals and two blocks. Rhoades has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Paxan Sullivan, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, South Bend Career Academy had strong showings from Quincy Bradshaw, who scored five points along with five rebounds, and Davion Mitchell, who scored nine points.
Mishawaka Marian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for South Bend Career Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Mishawaka Marian will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully New Prairie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
