Grace Christian took a serious blow against Rapides on Tuesday, falling 63-14. Grace Christian has struggled against Rapides recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Rapides' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sheldrick Vall, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Vall scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Newton, who scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Grace Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Rapides, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Christian will challenge Avoyelles Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Avoyelles Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grace Christian in Louisiana (Avoyelles Charter is ranked 55th, while Grace Christian is ranked 367th). As for Rapides, they will head out on the road to square off against Monterey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monterey is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
