Leechburg has gone 9-1 against St. Joseph recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Leechburg has four straight wins, St. Joseph has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Leechburg beat Western Beaver 9-5.

Chase Henry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Leechburg got a big performance out of Rocco Vigna, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Vigna has posted since back in April of 2024. Garrett Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Leechburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Beaver only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph lost 13-3 to Union Area on Wednesday.
St. Joseph saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Hill, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases were Hill's first of the season. Another was Martin Stickney, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Leechburg pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
St. Joseph's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Leechburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for St. Joseph, though, as they've only averaged .178. Will they be able to contain Leechburg's hitters?
Everything went Leechburg's way against St. Joseph when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Leechburg made off with a 17-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
