The Tuscarora Titans will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Manchester Valley Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Tuscarora has struggled recently with 12 losses in a row, while Manchester Valley will arrive with four straight victories.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Tuscarora, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-53 loss to North Hagerstown. While losing is never fun, Tuscarora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while North Hagerstown is ranked 51st).
Meanwhile, Manchester Valley earned a 57-45 win over Francis Scott Key on Friday.
Manchester Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brendan Luddy out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carter Strohman, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Tuscarora's defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Manchester Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Tuscarora came up short against Manchester Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 54-46. Can Tuscarora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
