Northview and Clay are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will head out to square off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Northview's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Clay's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Northview came up short against Perrysburg and fell 6-2.

Northview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Holmes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Quinton Wilson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Clay came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Kicking Mules.

The team relied heavily on Darin Fussell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Northview's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Clay, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Northview might still be hurting after the 14-5 loss they got from Clay in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
