Southside has gone 9-1 against Lejeune recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Southside Seahawks will welcome the Lejeune Devil Pups at 6:00 p.m.
Last Thursday, Southside ended up a good deal behind Pamlico County and lost 68-49. The Seahawks haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Southside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michelle Brown dropped a triple-double with ten points, ten boards, and 11 blocks. Those 11 blocks gave Brown a new career-high. Tamya Smith was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Southside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lejeune). They enjoyed a cozy 55-41 win over Jones on Thursday. The Devil Pups haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Lejeune's win came from a few key players Southside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Madison McQueen, who posted 20 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lejeune's points. Another player making a difference was Scarlett McLean, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 steals.
Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Lejeune, their win bumped their record up to 3-18.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Southside has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Lejeune struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Southside strolled past Lejeune in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 66-49. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was McQueen, who scored 34 points along with seven boards and six steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Southside still be able to contain McQueen? There's only one way to find out.
