North Thurston and Peninsula are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The North Thurston Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Peninsula Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Thurston has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 567 points over their last nine matches.
North Thurston scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Capital 71-39 at home. North Thurston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 24 points or more this season.
North Thurston can attribute much of their success to Liam Sheeran, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six assists, and Ray Adams, who scored 19 points along with three steals and two blocks. Sheeran hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Melo Delacruz, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Peninsula can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 57-44 win over Yelm.
North Thurston pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Peninsula, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
North Thurston took their win against Peninsula when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 64-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Thurston since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
