The Lake Placid Bombers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Keene Central 26-24. That's another feather in the cap for Lake Placid, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lake Placid got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyra Jordon out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Danna Perez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Lake Placid's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Keene Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Placid will face off against Crown Point at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Crown Point is ranked 584th, while Lake Placid is ranked 603rd). As for Keene Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bolton Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
