The Timpson Bears will square off against the Honey Grove Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Timpson comes in on 12 and Honey Grove on four.
Timpson extended their postseason success on Friday against Wolfe City. They blew past the Wolves 58-20 on the road. The result was nothing new for Timpson, who have now won nine games by 37 points or more so far this season.
Terry Bussey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 212 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 278 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per attempt. Bussey was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Amari Bruton was another key contributor, picking up 225 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Honey Grove's offense rose to the challenge against a Tigers defense that boasted an average of only 16.25 points allowed. Honey Grove snuck past Centerville with a 40-36 win on Friday.
It was another big night for Ryelan Morris, who rushed for 244 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry.
Their wins bumped Timpson to 12-0 and Wolfe City to 9-3.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Timpson has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 295.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Honey Grove struggles in that department as they've been even better at 296.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
