Wabash hasn't had much luck against Maconaquah recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Apaches will be playing at home against the Braves at 6:00 p.m.
On Monday, Wabash came up short against Manchester and fell 8-4.
Kalli Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Andi Conliff was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaitlynn Honeycutt, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Maconaquah had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Caston by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday.
Blayklee Buman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Buman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Shaela Brazzel was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ireland Kile was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Maconaquah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Wabash, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Wabash suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Maconaquah in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Apaches avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
