Gorham hasn't had much luck against Falmouth recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rams will host the Navigators at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Gorham's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Noble.
The result came thanks to Miles Brenner's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.
Gorham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Noble only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Falmouth took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past Kennebunk 10-0.
Jacoby Porter was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brandon White was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Thomas Healey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Gorham now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Falmouth, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
