This season hasn't been kind to the Wingfield Falcons, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They fell to Moss Point 41-35. While losing is never fun, Wingfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Moss Point is ranked 120th).
Despite the loss, Wingfield still got an impressive performance from Martavius Bennett, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Bennett's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Arrington, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
It was another big night for Quey'sean Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds for Moss Point. Tyrese Ricardo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Wingfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Moss Point, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Wingfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Port Gibson on December 27th. Moss Point is on the road again on Thursday and play against Warren Central at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th.
