Softball Recap: Richard Winn Academy Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Richard Winn Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Northside Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles beat the Crusaders on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-4. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Madi Bennett, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Margaret Swearingen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Richard Winn Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Northside Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richard Winn Academy will challenge Laurens Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 11th. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will square off against Lee Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
