It was a good run, but the Triton Central Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to New Palestine 43-37. Triton Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as New Palestine apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Triton Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucy Spall, who scored four points along with eight rebounds. Quinn King was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists.
New Palestine's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sadey Hughbanks led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Allie Blum, who scored 11 points along with seven assists.
Triton Central's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for New Palestine, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triton Central will take on Kokomo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Kokomo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for New Palestine, they will be playing at home against Pendleton Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pendleton Heights is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
