It was a good run, but The Edison Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 24-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Vernon. Edison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mount Vernon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Hudson Grimsley, who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns.
Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Mount Vernon, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-5.
Edison will take on Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Vernon, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Braddock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Braddock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mount Vernon in Virginia (Lake Braddock is ranked 32nd, while Mount Vernon is ranked 186th).
