After a string of three wins, the Christ the King Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to East Lincoln 60-54. The match was a 33-33 toss-up at halftime, but Christ the King was outscored by East Lincoln in the second.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Ryan, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Ryan's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marco Tampoya, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Christ the King struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as East Lincoln pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
East Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Lawless out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Fannon, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Christ the King's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for East Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
