After a string of ten wins, the Catoctin Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Linganore. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Catoctin of the 63-56 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Catoctin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kelsey Troxell, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. Troxell is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Brooke Williams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Catoctin's defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-2. As for Linganore, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Catoctin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-38 victory vs. Middletown on the 9th. Linganore has also already played their next contest, a 56-35 win against Towson on the 9th.
