The Skyline Eagles will take on the Tooele Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Skyline will be strutting in after a victory while Tooele will be coming in after a defeat.
Skyline will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against Murray on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Spartans, posting a 45-17 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Xavier Cocci had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 135 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 341 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 302 passing yards per game. A healthy portion of Cocci's aerial production (96 yards to be exact) went to Alex Brown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Skyline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Skyline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Peyton Carter and Liam Whitworth. Carter has been hot for a while, having also posted ten or more total tackles the last nine times he's played. Skyline got some further help from Cash Grandon: he made 20 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Tooele was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 55-27 defeat at the hands of Sky View. The Buffaloes were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Bobcats in the fourth quarter 8-0.
Skyline will need to focus on slowing down Gus Pater, one of several Tooele players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 94 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also threw for 183 yards and a pair of TDs. Pater also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, making six total tackles, and defending one pass. Another player making a difference was Mavrik Chlarson, who picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Skyline pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.8 points over those games. As for Tooele, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Skyline has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 306.7 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Tooele, though, as they've been averaging only 126.5 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
