The Broome Centurions lost against the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Broome took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blue Ridge. Broome has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Broome lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xavier Hill. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Levi Bishop, who scored eight points.
Nash Somero was his usual excellent self, scoring 38 points along with two steals for Blue Ridge. Somero is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Bishop, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Broome's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-10. As for Blue Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broome will face off against Carolina Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carolina Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Blue Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Chapman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapman is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.4 points per game.
