Miami is 0-4 against Columbus since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Stingarees will square off against the Explorers at 3:30 p.m. Miami will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Miami and Miami Beach meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Stingarees blew past the Hi-Tides 13-3. The Stingarees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Jann Soto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
In other pitching news, Santiago Espana-Reconco looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Samuel Bort-Batista, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Darvin Linarte was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, Columbus earned a 7-3 victory over Stony Brook on Friday.
Stony Brook's batters probably weren't too happy with Dayan Viciedo, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up two walks).
At the plate, Columbus let Jose Correa and Mario Magana run wild. Correa scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Magana scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Aj Rivero also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Columbus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Miami, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-7.
Miami might still be hurting after the 14-1 loss they got from Columbus when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can the Stingarees avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
