Last Tuesday, South Pike blew past Wilkinson County, posting a 63-34 victory at home. That looming 63-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for South Pike yet this season.
Jovon Leavy and Lavell Thompson were among the main playmakers for South Pike as the former scored 17 points and the latter scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. John Harrell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Clinton Christian Academy's 9-0 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were the victim of a rough 56-30 loss at the hands of St. Joseph Catholic on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clinton Christian Academy has scored all season.
South Pike's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Clinton Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
