After flying high against the Winfield Vikings last Friday, the Augusta Orioles came back down to earth. Augusta ended up on the wrong side of a rough 62-42 walloping at the hands of Bishop Seabury Academy on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Augusta has suffered yet this season.
Bishop Seabury Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Smith, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. That's the first time this season that Smith posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Page, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Augusta will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wellsville. Wellsville will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Bishop Seabury Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Baldwin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 567 points over their last nine contests.
